Does artificial turf get hot in the sun?

Like most synthetic materials, turf can heat up in direct sunlight. However, it cools quickly once shaded or rinsed. Lighter-colored blades and infill options can also help reduce surface temps. 

Is artificial grass safe for children and pets?

Absolutely. The turf we install and infill we use is non-toxic. Its safe for all family members, including pets. For animal turf related installs, we offer pet-specific infill that reduces odors and fights bacteria!

How do I clean and maintain my artificial lawn?

Overall, turf is low maintenance, but a few simple habits go a long way. Lightly rake or use a leaf blower to remove debris, and rinse any spots as needed, especially in pet areas. Replenish infill and power broom the turf fibers every 1–3 years, depending on traffic. ​​We provide a complimentary turf rake with every install and offer optional service tune-ups upon request.

Will artificial turf help me save on my water bill?

Yes! Turf dramatically reduces outdoor water usage. In California, lawn irrigation can account for 50% or more of total residential water use. Turf eliminates the need to water, fertilize, or reseed your yard.

Can I install turf around my pool or patio?

Definitely. Turf installs beautifully around pools, concrete, or paver borders. We ensure proper drainage and secure seam work to prevent movement or fraying around hardscapes.

Is turf good for dogs and other pets?

Yes! It’s one of the top reasons homeowners make the switch. Our pet-specific turf systems include grass-like turf blades, Zeofill infill (odor and bacteria control), and strong base work to handle digging and wear. Plus, it’s easy to rinse and maintain.

Can artificial grass be installed on slopes or uneven surfaces?

Of course. We prep each base with proper compaction, drainage, and slope correction. Whether it’s a mild grade or a more complex contour, our team can shape the area to ensure safe use and long-term durability.

How does artificial turf handle drainage?

All our installs are designed for effective drainage. The turf backing has perforated holes to let water pass through, and we can add French drains or pop-ups for areas that need extra flow direction. We also gently slope the base away from the home and other structures to prevent water pooling near foundations.

What are the benefits of using pavers over concrete?

Pavers offer greater design flexibility, longer lifespan, and easier repair. Unlike concrete, which can crack over time and require full replacement, pavers can be replaced individually if damaged. They also allow for better drainage and often have a more upscale look and feel.

What types of pavers do you offer (brick, concrete, stone, etc.)?

We work with a variety of premium options, including concrete pavers, porcelain pavers, and natural stone like travertine. Style, texture, and color can all be customized to match your home’s design or outdoor layout.

How long does it take to install pavers?

Most paver installs are completed within 2–5 business days, depending on size, access, and weather. Custom features or material orders may add to the timeline.  For reference: Smaller walkways or patios: 1–3 days. Driveways or large backyard areas: 2–4 days

What kind of maintenance do pavers require?

Pavers are very low maintenance. Occasional rinsing and sweeping will keep them clean. Every few years, you may want to reapply polymeric sand between joints or seal the surface to preserve color and protect against stains — especially for high-traffic areas or natural stone installs.

Do you offer custom paver design?

Yes! We can build fully custom layouts that include borders, inlays, curved edges, and color patterns. We ensure the design is both beautiful and functional.

Can I install pavers for driveways, walkways, and patios?

Absolutely. Pavers are commonly used for driveways, patios, pool decks, walkways, and courtyards. For driveways in particular, we build an extra-deep base to ensure the surface supports vehicle traffic over time.

How durable are paver installations?

Very. When installed over a compacted base with bedding sand and polymeric joint sand, pavers can last 20+ years with minimal upkeep. They’re built to handle both foot and vehicle traffic without cracking like poured concrete.

Can pavers be installed with artificial turf between them?

Yes, this is a popular design choice for modern patios and walkways. We can install narrow turf strips between pavers or concrete for a soft, natural look that still drains well and stays low-maintenance.

What is the cost difference between pavers and stamped concrete?

In general, concrete is cheaper upfront, especially for basic broom finishes. Standard concrete ranges from $15–$20 per sq ft, while stamped (but uncolored) concrete typically falls around $20–$24. Once you add color, sealant, or texture, stamped concrete often ends up in the same price range as pavers, which can cost $25–$30 per square foot.

Do pavers shift or sink over time?

Properly installed pavers should remain stable. We use layered compaction and polymeric sand to lock them in place. In rare cases, extreme traffic or drainage issues can cause minor movement — but these are easy to correct compared to concrete cracking.

Do you offer full backyard remodels with both pavers and turf?

Yes. Most of our projects combine turf, pavers, and other hardscape features like pergolas, bocce courts, and seating areas. We specialize in backyard remodels that blend function and design in one seamless process.  Many of our clients choose to complete their projects in phases: starting with turf, then adding pergolas, pavers, or other upgrades over time. We’re happy to work with your timeline and budget.

Can you help with backyard design or planning?

Absolutely. We offer renderings and to-scale designs that help visualize the layout before installation. During your consultation, we’ll walk the space, hear your goals, and help shape a plan that fits your lifestyle, budget, and property layout.

What’s the process for getting a quote on my project?

It starts with you inquiring! This can be a phone call, webform, or even a social media message. A team member will connect with you to learn about your goals, property, and schedule. If you’re local, we can often schedule a same-day or next-day site visit. After the visit with our representative, you’ll receive a detailed quote within a few days! If needed, we can create a design to go with it.

Do you install outdoor fire pits or seating areas with pavers?

Yes. We can integrate built-in or portable fire pit spaces, as well as custom seating walls, patios, and gathering areas using pavers or concrete. These are great additions to any yard!

Can I combine putting greens, turf, and pavers in one project?

Definitely! That’s actually one of our most popular setups. We often design full outdoor experiences with a putting green, turf for open space or pet use, and pavers for patios, walkways, or seating zones. Everything is installed with proper drainage and design flow in mind. We value aesthetics, durability, and practicality. 

Do you work on rooftop or balcony turf installs?

We do take on rooftop or balcony projects, depending on access, structure, and drainage. These require special planning and bases, so reach out with your location and details — we’ll let you know if it’s a fit.

Do I need a drainage system under turf or pavers?

Not always. Most of our projects are built with a permeable, layered base that drains naturally. For yards with poor grading or pooling issues, we can install French drains, pop-up emitters, or custom slope adjustments to direct water away from the home or flat areas.

What kind of base is used for turf installation?

We install a compacted base made of 3/4” crushed rock, layered and compacted in lifts for stability and drainage. This is topped with decomposed granite (DG) to create a smooth, level finish for the turf to sit on. Every install includes weed fabric underneath, and optional gopher guard if needed.

How do you prevent weed growth under turf or pavers?

We use a high-grade landscape fabric that goes down before any base materials. For turf, it sits under the crushed rock layer. For pavers, we compact over bedding sand with tight joints and polymeric sand, which helps prevent weed intrusion from above. Proper compaction is key to avoiding future growth. 

Can you fix drainage issues in my yard during installation?

Yes! We routinely help clients correct slope, install new drainage, and resolve pooling. This might include regrading the area or contouring the subbase to encourage natural flow. Each project is shaped with proper water movement in mind.

Will pavers cause flooding or pooling in rainy weather?

No, pavers are installed over a permeable base that allows rain to drain between joints and into the ground below. For areas with heavy runoff or poor soil, we add drainage features or adjust slopes to prevent pooling. When installed correctly, pavers actually help manage water better than poured concrete.

How much does artificial turf installation cost per square foot? 

Most turf installs fall between $10 and $18 per sq ft, depending on a few variables like size, accessibility, type of turf, and more. We offer a variety of turf options in different blade heights, densities, and color blends — from vibrant green to natural shades with thatch. Cost also depends on the infill you choose, such as standard for general use or Zeofill for pet areas.

What’s the average per square foot cost for a paver driveway or patio?

Paver installations typically range from $20 to $30 per sq ft, depending on the material (concrete, porcelain, or natural stone), design complexity, and site access. Intricate layouts or premium materials may fall at the higher end of the range.

Do you offer financing options?

Yes. We work with multiple financing programs, including non-secured loans, secured loans, same-as-cash (SAC) options, and PACE financing. Rates and terms vary depending on credit and lender.

How long does a typical installation take?

Most standard installations take 2–4 business days. Weather conditions, site access challenges, and custom orders can extend timelines slightly. Larger or more complex projects, such as full backyard remodels, may take a week or more.

Do you offer free consultations or estimates?

Yes. We provide free on-site consultations and detailed estimates for all projects. If you’re available, we can often arrange a same-day or next-day visit, from when you inquired. For larger or custom projects, we also offer design plans to help you visualize the final layout.

Is there a minimum project size?

Yes. Our minimum for artificial turf installs is generally 300 sq ft to cover crew, materials and equipment. We’ve also completed smaller projects such as 150 sq ft putting greens and smaller paver installs, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

What areas do you serve in California?

We are based in Livermore and serve the Bay Area and Tri-Valley, including Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette, Alamo, Castro Valley, Hayward and Fremont.

Do you install both residential and commercial projects?

Yes. We work on residential backyards, front yards and rooftop spaces as well as commercial projects like office courtyards, event venues, apartment complexes, schools and HOA-managed areas.

Can you remove old grass or concrete before installation?

Yes. Our team can handle complete demo work including removal of natural grass, artificial turf, pavers, concrete and other hardscape or landscape materials before installation.

Are your installations licensed and insured?

Yes. We are fully licensed and insured in the state of California. All work is performed by trained crews who follow proper installation standards for safety, durability and quality.

Do you offer a warranty on turf or paver installations?

Yes. All of our installations include a 15-year product warranty and a 5-year labor warranty. We cover issues such as base failures or issues caused by improper installation. Warranties do not cover acts of God or damage from misuse, but we do offer service and repair options!
